Marco Battaglini is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Bocconi University, Milan. Prior to joining Bocconi, he was Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Princeton University and Cornell University, USA. His research focuses on microeconomic theory with particular emphasis on topics at the intersection between economics and politics. He is an elected fellow of the Econometric society and of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, and a non-resident fellow at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance. In 2009, he has received the Carlo Alberto Medal awarded to an Italian economist under 40 for outstanding research contributions in the field of economics.
