Lab for Analytical Economics (LAE)
Theory and Data science for Policy Analysis and Research in Social Science
WHAT WE DO
Unit Directors: Marco Battaglini and Eleonora Patacchini
The Laboratory for Analytical Economics (LAE) promotes research and policy initiatives aiming at understanding how economic theory and data science help addressing the challenges of our complex and evolving society. Advances in technology have generated an unprecedented volume of digital data that can be used to research traditional social science topics like political economy, investment decisions, economic growth, inequality, sustainability and climate change. The goal of the lab is to use theory as a guide for data analysis and to provide policy insights. The Center welcomes interdisciplinary research projects and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
