Abhinav Pandey

Abhinav Pandey is a PhD Student in Business Administration and Management at Bocconi University and Head of AI Engineering and Technology at the ION Management Science Lab. He studies how knowledge workers think and decide alongside AI systems — and what that means for organizations that want to leverage these tools strategically. His research spans the design of agentic AI systems, the microfoundations of theory-based strategy, and the organizational structures that make human–AI collaboration work. He combines field experiments with strategic theory to identify when AI augments human judgment and when it doesn't. Prior to joining Bocconi, he served as Head of Startup Strategy at iB Hubs, was part of the founding teams of several startups in EdTech, VR, and AI, and founded Carpe Diem, a social project providing residential camp experiences for children from underprivileged schools in New Delhi. He holds an MBA from HKUST Business School and a B.E. (Hons) in Computer Science from BITS Pilani.
