FINTECH LAB
Scientific Director: Claudio Tebaldi
The Fintech Lab coordinates scientific research, literacy and policy initiatives dedicated to the economic analysis of digital transformation in financial services.
For instance, it works with financial institutions in developing new solutions to innovative payments, B2B payments and alternative financing solutions for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises), as a complement to bank financing.
The Fintech Lab also estimates the impact of these innovations for the society as a whole.
The current research of the Lab concerns:
- Digital Currencies with a special focus on CBDC (Central Banking Digital Currencies)
- Crypto, Financial Markets and Institutions (Decentralized Finance and Web3)
- Blockchain, the economy and the law
- Big data and machine learning support for financial applications
- The impact of AI on investments
Moreover, the Lab provides:
- Fintech Lab Wiki, a publicly available collaborative platform supervised by experts aimed at facilitating dissemination of research;
- Software repositories and shared teaching material;
- Hardware solutions designed to reduce the 'digital gap' between research teams focused on social sciences and IT solutions.
