CORPAP (Corporate Finance and Asset Prices)
Research Unit Director: Florian Nagler
The Corporate Finance and Asset Prices (CORPAP) research unit is a specialized research facility dedicated to advancing knowledge in corporate finance, and studying the interaction between corporate financial decisions and asset prices. The Unit functions as part of the BAFFI Centre, ensuring that its research agenda is closely aligned with the Centre’s broader strategic goals. The Unit aims to address the following questions:
What are the frictions that drive corporate financial decisions?
How can technological advances be leveraged to better understand and quantify these frictions?
How do financial asset markets and asset prices affect firms’ financial decisions?
The mission of the CORPAP Unit is to serve as a dedicated platform for conducting high-quality research, mentoring students, and engaging in capacity building with academic scholars and industry experts. Key activities include:
Research Projects: The Unit conducts cutting-edge research aligned with its objectives by employing empirical analysis, theoretical modeling, and innovative methodologies. It actively contributes to academic debate through publications in leading journals, thereby disseminating knowledge and shaping both scholarly discourse and practical decision-making. Its overarching goal is to generate meaningful impact by pursuing high-risk, high-reward research ideas.
Exchanging Ideas: The Unit organizes and hosts conferences, workshops, expert discussions, and seminars that bring together scholars, researchers, and industry experts to exchange ideas and discuss current topics. It thus offers a platform that fosters constructive exchange among individuals engaged with the Unit’s objectives.
