SFIB - Investment Banking and Structured Finance

SFIB – Structured Finance and Investments Banking produces applied, highly influential research with strong impact on the community of pratictioners, policy makers and scholars in all the fields of activity related to investment banking and structured finance: equity and debt capital markets, private equity and venture capital, M&A and corporate restructuring, infrastructure financing for private projects and PPPs (Public Private Partnerships).
The mission of the research unit is giving best practices on how public and private markets should work.
It focuses on the role of financial intermediaries in these fields and studies the evolution of capital markets and the impact that recent trends have on the behavior of investors.
The research unit gives recommendations to policy makers to review regulation on capital markets, in particular equity, listed debt and real assets (infrastructure). SFIB for instance has given recommendations on capital markets union, Tuf (Testo Unico della Finanza, i.e. the Italian main regulation of financial markets and instruments).
Morever, SFIB provides guidelines and best practices in managing private assets, in particular infrastructures and private equity. SFIB participated as academic advisor to the Financial Stability Board Study on the impact of banking regulations on the availability of funds to infrastructure investments.
