EDUFIN - Financial Education
Unit Director: Francesco Saita
The Financial Education Unit – EDUFIN has developed education and research projects aimed at improving individuals’ abilities and competencies in the areas of financial knowledge, financial and pension planning, insurance planning and risk management.
The overall aim of the unit is:
- developing educational projects aimed at raising the level of financial education;
- investigating the effectiveness of financial education programs in a rigorous way, contributing to the policy and academic debate;
- contributing to the growing research on the impact of individuals’ financial literacy on personal finance decisions.
Recent projects of EDUFIN include:
- Pension financial planning education in the workplace, financed by the national Committee for financial education (Comitato Edufin)/ Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze;
- Cooperation in a research project with the research division of CONSOB based on its 2018 Report on Financial Investments of Italian Households;
- the pension planning educational project on workers named FINLIFE, supported by two grants of Citi Foundations, New York;
- the educational project for high school students named FELIP, supported by two grants of Citi Foundations;
- Cooperation with ANIA (Italian national association of insurance companies)-Forum Consumatori on the project on insurance education “Io e i rischi”.
