Baffi Centre organizes the workshop “Transizione 5.0. Cybersecurity e diritti nell’era dell’intelligenza artificiale” in Milan on 24th June 2025.

The event is the second meeting within the DigiTalks seminar series and is supported by Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (ACN), the Italian cybersecurity national agency.

These workshops explore the intersections between economics, constitutional law and digital transformations, with a focus on the protection of fundamental rights in the age of artificial intelligence. The series of meetings explores emerging challenges and opportunities related to cybersecurity in the contemporary digital environment.

The second meeting is dedicated to the theme of “Transition 5.0”, understood as the unavoidable intersection between human capabilities and advanced technologies, oriented towards the promotion of sustainability and resilience. A transition in which cybersecurity and artificial intelligence play a leading role.

The workshop will be opened by institutional greetings of Bocconi University Rector Francesco Billari. It will be followed by a keynote speech by Nunzia Ciardi (Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale, ACN) and Maria Chiara Carrozza (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche). Later, there will be a discussion with Flavia Bavetta (Università Bocconi); Pietro Caminiti (Terna); Claudia Di Andrea (Camera dei deputati); Domenico Ielo (lawyer of Milan); Alessandro Menna (Italgas); Federica Paolucci (Università Bocconi), moderated by Massimo Sideri (“Corriere della Sera”.

Finally, Oreste Pollicino (Bocconi University) will draw the conclusions. Pollicino, who is also unit director of the research unit Rules (Law and Economics), explained: “The workshop goes deep into into the focus group theme, at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, which are new and have had significant legislative output, such as AI Act; Dora and NIS 2”.

The initiative is part of the DigCon (Digital Constitutionalism: Rights, Remedies and Policy in the Algorithmic Society) project, promoted by Bocconi University's Baffi research centre and financed by the Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS21) - CUP J53C23002620001, FIS00003134.
