The Baffi Centre hosts a new ERC Advanced Grant with the INFINITY – The OrigINs of FINancial FragilITY project, led by Elena Carletti, Dean for Research and Professor of Finance and research director of BAFIR (Banking, Finance and Regulation) unit of the Baffi Centre. The grant is worth approximately €2.3 million and lasting five years.

The project addresses a crucial issue for global economic stability: the causes and dynamics of financial fragility. Through three lines of research (the theory of bank runs, the role of deregulation and the effectiveness of banking supervision), INFINITY aims to provide new insights into understanding and preventing crises such as those that have affected the United States and Europe in recent decades.
