Equita and Baffi Centre promote a conference on financial ecosystems

Baffi Centre, together with the independent Italian investment bank Equita, organize the conference “Gli eco-sistemi finanziari e lo sviluppo del bene comune” on 19th June 2025 at Bocconi University.
In a time when Europe is committed to strengthening the Capital Markets Union (Cmu) and individual states are called upon to rethink their industrial and financial policies, reflection on the role of financial ecosystems in generating the common good becomes central.
“The 2025 research project, promoted by Bocconi University's Baffi Research Centre and EQUITA, analyses four representative ecosystems - the French dirigiste model, the Swedish social-democratic model, the English liberalist system and the Italian bank-centric system - from a comparative perspective, with the aim of identifying virtuous patterns, critical issues and policy recommendations for Italy and the European financial integration process”, explained Stefano Caselli, director of the research unit SFIB (Structured Finance and Investment Banking) of Baffi Centre, as well as Dean of SDA Bocconi School of Management.
The conference will be introduced by Francesco Billari (Rector of Bocconi University) and Andrea Vismara (ceo of Equita). Baffi Centre’s research will be discussed by Mathieu Caron (Head of Primary Markets, Euronext); Adam Kostyàl (president, Nasdaq Stockholm); Ugo Orsini (Capital Markets Partner, Linklaters); Fabrizio Testa (ceo, Borsa Italiana). Then Carmine Di Noia (Director Financial and Enteprise Affairs) and Federico Freni (State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Finance) will disucss the tools and incentives for deals in Italy.
The conference will be an opportunity to discuss the preliminary results of the research and to start a debate among academics, policymakers and practitioners on how to build a financial system capable of contributing in a concrete and measurable way to economic growth and to collective welfare.
