BAFFI Centre grows with the launch another research unit: Corporate Finance and Asset Prices (CORPAP). It is the 17th research unit of the centre. The unit, directed by Florian Nagler (in photo), is a specialized research facility dedicated to advancing knowledge in corporate finance and studying the interaction between corporate financial decisions and asset prices. The research unit aims to address the following questions:

  1. What are the frictions that drive corporate financial decisions?
  2. How can technological advances be leveraged to better understand and quantify these frictions?
  3. How do financial asset markets and asset prices affect firms’ financial decisions?

“The mission of the CORPAP Unit is to serve as a dedicated platform for conducting high-quality research, mentoring students, and engaging in capacity building with academic scholars and industry experts. Key activities include research projects and exchanging ideas”, explains the unit director Florian Nagler.

He is an associate professor of finance at Bocconi University. He obtained a Ph.D. from the Vienna Graduate School of Finance (VGSF) and a Master of Science in Quantitative Finance from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). Prof. Nagler has published articles in leading finance journals, including the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics. His research has received several awards, for example the Best Paper Award from the Review of Asset Pricing Studies. He is the recipient of an ERC Starting Grant for his project on Non-Traded Assets in Over-the-Counter Markets. His research focuses on corporate finance, asset pricing, and over-the-counter markets.
