Paola Manes

Paola Manes is a Full Professor of Private Law at University of Bologna where she also teaches Insurance, Financial Law and ESG. She is also Core Faculty at Bologna Business School.
She obtained a PHD in Civil Law at University of Bologna and a Master in Law at  King’s College London.
She has been Visiting Professor at Brunel University London and lecturer at King’s College London, IE University Madrid, HTW Berlin and University of Oslo.
She is member of CEDE (Centre for Digital Ethics) of University of Bologna and of the Female’ Scholars ‘Network in Financial Markets Law and Company Law.  
Her research interests are focused on company law, corporate governance of financial institutions, wealth planning and more recently on ethics of Artificial Intelligence, credit scoring and climate change regulations related to financial players.  She has published numerous articles on corporate governance and compliance in the banking and the insurance sector. Her research is now focused on the impact of the digital transition on the financial sector and on ESG driven compliance of banking and insurance. She participates in academic and industry debates on the topic of climate change and she organizes academic international events focused on the regulatory aspects of IA and its risk assessment framework.
She has 25 years of practice as a lawyer, admitted also before the Supreme Court. She served as an expert before the ICC London.
She also has a significant experience as board member of listed and unlisted companies - insurances, banks and foundations.
