Donato Masciandaro

BAFFI Honorary President and MONETA Research Unit Director. From 2001 Donato Masciandaro is Full Professor of Economics. From 2005 he holds the Chair in Economics of Financial Regulation, at Bocconi University. From 2023 he is Director of the EPDC (Economics, Politics and Decision Science) Area at SDA Bocconi. From 2023 he is Director of the Edufin (Financial Education) Committee at MEF (Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance). From 2024 he is President of SUERF (Sociètè Universitarie Europèenne de Recherches Financières). From 2023 he is Economic Counsellor at MEF.  From 2010 he is Associated Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability. In the past, he has been  Director of the  Baffi Centre at Bocconi University, from January 2018 to December 2024. From 2013 he has been  Head of the Department of Economics at Bocconi University; he was already Department Head from 2008 to 2010. From 2015 he has been  President of the BAFFI Centre; he was already Director of the Centre (2008-2014). From 2009 he has been  member of the Management Board and from 2011 Honorary Treasurer of the SUERF. He served as Visiting Scholar at the IMF (International Monetary Fund), as well as Consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations. His main research interests are in  Monetary Policy and Central Banking, Financial Regulation and Supervision,  Illegal Financial Markets.
