Breno Sampaio is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco/UFPE, Brazil and Director of the Group for the Economic Evaluation of Public Policies (GAPPE.org). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign/UIUC in 2011. His main research interests include economics of crime, labor economics, health economics and development economics.
