Massimo Morelli

Research Unit Director. He earned a PhD in Economics Harvard University (1996) and another PhD from University of Pavia (1995) and a Msc in Economics and Social Sciences, summa cum laude, from Bocconi University in 1991.
He is Professor of Political Science and Economics at Bocconi University. Fellow of Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, Fellow of the Econometric Society, Research Fellow at Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER) and Baffi Centre. Moreover, he is senior research scientist at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER).
His research interests are in game theory, mechanism design, political economy, governance institutions, development economics, behavioral and public economics, comparative politics and international relations.
He has published on American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, all the top journals in economics and political science. He is one of the editors of the Handbook on the Economics of Conflict, North Holland, 2024.
