Vincenzo Galasso

Research Unit Director. Vincenzo Galasso received a PhD in Economics from UCLA.
He is Full Professor of Economics and Head of the Departments of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University.
Galasso is also Research Fellow at: the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London; the CES-Ifo, Monaco, at IGIER, Milano; at the Center for Economic and Political Research on Aging (CEPRA) at the University of Lugano, Switzerland.
He is Editor of the European Journal of Political Economy,and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pension Economics and Finance. Galasso is also principal investigator of the spoke 7 of Age-It (Italian Ageing Society).
He was the Director of the Bachelor in International Politics and Government in Bocconi. He has been a consultant at the OECD, the World Bank and the Italian Prime Minister Office.
His research deals with political economics, aging, social security and the welfare state. He has also worked on the socio-economic effects of COVID-19.
He has published two book on intergenerational conflicts (“Contro i giovani”, Mondadori, 2007, with Tito Boeri) and “Gioventù smarrita” (Egea, 2021).
He has published in several academic journals, including PNAS, American Journal of Political Science, American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory, Public Choice, Economic Policy, Population Studies, British Journal of Medicine Global Health.
