Francesco Viganò

Francesco Viganò is a Full Professor of Criminal Law at Bocconi University. He earned his PhD in Legal Studes from Pavia University in 1997 and served later as a professor at Brescia Unversity and at the Università degli Studi, Milan. He is currently the Secretary General of the Société Internationale de Défense Sociale and a member of the Boards of Directors of the Siracusa International Institute for Human Rights and Criminal Justice. He is the Editor-in Chief of the on-line review “Diritto penale contemporaneo”. His research currently focuses on human rights and criminal law, as well as on medical law, terrorism, organized crime, corruption. He is involved in several international research projects.
