Maria Carreri

Maria Carreri is an Assistant Professor at the School of Global Policy and Strategy, University of California San Diego. She received her PhD in Politics from New York University in 2018. Her research in Political Economy and Local Politics examines the role of political leaders across diverse institutional contexts. She is particularly interested in executive competence, political selection, the economic impact of local institutions, and local fiscal policy.
